Kedah eye Sabri loan move

Daily Express

Kinabalu: There is a high demand for Sabah players as Sabri Sahar became the latest and the 11th player so far in total wanted by another team for the Malaysia Cup competition. The youngster who played a sterling role in the Sukma squad triumph in Pahang recently has been approached by Kedah FA to don their colours for the duration of three months.

They have written to the Sabah FA and now it is up to the management to decide whether to allow the midfielder to join fellow Sabahan Sumardi Hajalan who had been approved earlier to play for Kedah. According to his father, he has no objection to allow his son to play for other team in a short term basis.

He said money is not the issue here as it is important for Sabri to grab his chance to learn as much as he can while he is still young. "It will be a great opportunity for him to gain valuable experience with another team since Sabah will not be playing in the Cup competition," he told Express Sports when met at the Likas Stadium on Tuesday evening.

Sabri who was once featured prominently in the starting 11 during the reign of Australian coach Gary Philips was hardly utilised by Justin Ganai last season. He only made brief appearances for the senior team throughout the season.

Meanwhile, some of the players who have been engaged by other teams have left for their new employers this week. The 10 players who are loaned out by the FA are Rozami Abd Rahman(Selangor), Sumardi Hajalan (Kedah), Shahrul Azhar Ture (T-Team), Shahrudin Yakup (Sarawak), Bobby Gonzales (Sarawak), Mafry Balang (Kelantan), Reithaudin Ag. Emran (Perak), Mohd Fariss Azlan Mat Isa (Perak), Zuraindey Jumai (Perak) and Ronny Harun (Negeri Sembilan).
